The Lone Wolf wholesale and retail Cigar Company was founded in 1996 by cigar lovers Chuck Norris and James Belushi. As friends, they shared a love for cigars, Norris and Belushi set out to create a classic American cigar company that represented their values and ideals. The result was The Lone Wolf Cigar Company. Today, the Lone Wolf Cigar Company offers cigars in retail locations, of the highest standards and features its proprietary lines: Signature Select, Lobo Rojo and Lobo Fuerte. The Lone Wolf Cigar Co. also mass distributes its Sungrown and Wolfpack lines globally. The retail operation, with its flagship and first store is located in Santa Monica, California and offers a full range of all top cigar brands.

David R. Weiss, president of The Lone Wolf Cigar Company, acquired the company in 2000, after managing the retail operations since 1996. Weiss's leadership led the company from a specialty niche position to nationally recognized brand and retailer of all brands both in brick and mortar locations and via catalog and internet in Lone Wolf’s sister and mail order company DWCigars.com. Weiss's interest in the company was as much about his respect for The Lone Wolf lines of cigars as it was about the vision he shared with Norris and Belushi of a company promoting camaraderie, community and culture. Weiss said, “Everyone is a Lone Wolf in their own way and we celebrate that by bringing Lone Wolfs together, all across the country and globe, to enjoy the finer things in life."

Weiss's hands-on leadership was evident immediately as he reengineered the original cigar lines to balance the entire brand with the ever changing tastes of cigar smokers while keeping the traditions of the company intact. By revamping the existing lines and launching new ones, Weiss has built a portfolio of cigars that exceed the expectations of the aficionado’s and continues to impress the tastes of casual and occasional smokers alike. The marketplace has rewarded Weiss's commitment to both Lone Wolf's cigars and its ideals by providing consistent demand for its Lone Wolf products and for all other brands of cigars and tobacco products via the retail operations, online and via catalogue mail order. What started out as an idea in Chuck Norris's back yard has turned into a visionary company built to serve the great folks of this country and abroad who all share the love of cigars.
